About
Us
Natural Mothering is a small UK business,
run from home. It was origninally created by Andreja Mclean, a
SAHM and a sole trader with the support support of her
husband Gavin "my support in every way, my IT man, my right hand
at childcare and housework". She was inspired by her two beautiful
children, Jack Matevz (5) and Ursa Freya.
"Our babywearing experience began when
my son Jack was 5 months old. He hated the pram and he wanted to
be up and carried from birth on. I tried a high street store carrier,
which was uncomfortable for both of us. And then, when he was 5
months old, we attended our first La Leche League meeting (Jack
was breastfed as is his little sister Urska). I met like minded
mothers and my confidence grew. And I tried a sling that one of
the members brought her baby in. I bought one for myself and my
son was carried from then on.
I have since learned more about baby
carrying and our daughter Urska was also mainly a carried baby,
although these days she prefers walking."
We would like to offer mothers a place,
where they can find information, support and reassurance. Besides
different baby carriers and slings that we sell, at Natural Mothering
you can also find information on range of subjects - things that
we were looking for when we were parents and that we keep discovering.
We hope you find our pages helpful and that you will return as well
as recommend us on to your friends.
Our beliefs
We believe that children are people in their own right and they
are to be loved and respected. We believe in breastfeeding, babywearing,
attachment parenting and loving guidance. We also know that it can
be hard to raise a family and that there are moments, when we just
don't know how to approach something that is worrying us. Perhaps
these pages will help with the information that they contain.
Some is based on experiences from our
family, others we have learnt by talking to other mothers, fathers,
families, etc. No two children, no two families are the same. We
are well aware of that. What one person believes is right, might
not be someone else's cup of tea. What works for one family or child
may not be helpful or of any use to another, although it might be
completely in line with your beliefs.
We hope you will take what you find positive
for you and leave the rest.
And if you have any experiences, concerns,
stories, etc. that you would like to share, we will soon add a Discussion
Board where you will be able to talk to other parents! We will be
sending out a notice to Newsletter Subscribers when this happens
and you can expect another competition!
We would love to hear from you! You
