Bebina's New Rainbow

We had so many inquiries about the Bebina Rainbow, that we decided to bring it back. This is one of the loveliest rainbow wraps - colours are perfect, they are in right order and the wrap is supportive and soft. A definite cheer-me-up wrap on a gloomy day or an eye-catcher on any day! The box arrived and when I opened it - shock! - the Bebina Rainbow was not the same - the colours are the same, the feel and weave are the same, but the strips are thinner. I was surprised, but the new one is really growing on me! Here is the old one on a model

And here is the swatch of the new one:

So, what do you think? Still a pretty wrap - some like it better, some prefer the old style. I love them both!

New Site is Up!

Phew! Finally done!

We received an email a few months ago that we need to upgrade our version of the cart to the latest one as our hosting company was upgrading their servers. for DIYers like us, this is quite a challenge!

Of course, I 'needed' all the modules and features available :D We experimented, tried, pulled our hair out...

Due to illness in the family, we also had limited time to spend on it. But... it is now finished and live!

Such a relief!!

|We hope you like it :)

Enjoy the babywearing!

Something special - Molas

We have already announced that Mama Kangaroo wraps are back. But we also have a nice surprise - a fantastic, one of a kind range of Mola Wraps!

Mola is a form of a textile art, created by Kuna Indians of Panama. Each mola is created by sewing together several different coloured layers of fabric. Intricate patterns are then created bu cutting away layers to expose different coloured fabrics beneath. All the edges are then carefully and beautiful sewn together with special, very small needles.

Each mola is one of a kind, created by a woman to become a part of her clothing. A part of that woman's outlook on life, her philosophy and disposition are captured on each mola. Usually, two panels are created - one for the back of the woman's costume, one for the front.

Molas are very sought after pieces of art. After women dispose of their blouse, they carefully remove mola and sell it on.

Being able to create Mola and how good they are doing it, gives women a social status as well. Today, simple Molas are created to be sold on to tourists.

Mama Kangaroo owners and founders are Colombians and they have sourced original, genuine Molas to create this special babywearing pieces!

There will always only be one of each pattern as artisans create them, so you will truly buy yourself a piece of art to carry your baby in!

After baby outgrows the carrier, you can carefully remove it and make it into a heirloom pillow case or frame it as a keepsake.

Because they are made of fabric for the purpose of decorating the clothes, they are sturdy and washable. We recommend hand wash to preserve the colours.

Longevity (Long Life) Mola
